Fun and Productive

I was thinking to myself the other day..."Chris...(that's what I go by during internal conversations) you really should keep a few 'all occasion' cards on hand. Target can be a hot mess, and CVS doesn't have a very good selection..." And that's what prompted me to create my very own "Card Emergency Kit".

What the heck in the world would you keep in such a kit one might ask? Well, there is a "love" card, a Hello card, a Christmas Card, a Halloween card, a birthday card, a general "thinking of you" card, a thank you card, and a get well soon card.

Then I asked myself..."Where are you going to keep these cards so you can get to them when you need them?" And then the idea of a pretty box popped to mind.

So off I went to my CTMH stash, and produced this in no time flat. I had such a great time, and happen to think it is a very good thing for every household to have on hand.

Cherry-O Mate

I fell in love with the Cherry-O from CTMH. I have used it for just about everything! I covered a 12x12 box to store the stationary set and pens I made. I decorated little vases, and flameless candles. I even decorated a reed infuser that happened to be cherry scented, and wrapped the reeds around a bunch of cherries. OK, I'll admit, I may be slightly obsessed...but just a little. I have been dying to find some paper that went with the pics of the little girls back in January, and let me tell you, THIS. WAS. IT!! I have done a recipe box from this paper pack, made boxes to hold your Silly Bands, and it was the paper I chose to use to make my Convention Swap Cards. The possibilities are endless!

I will be holding a Cherry-O workshop later this month. But one more picture before I go.

First impressions

For my nephew's 4th birthday, I decided to make him a card. Until this card, I had never been that impressed with the Zippidee paper pack from CTMH. But now I love it! It just goes to show you that, you are only limited by your own mind!

I'm not sure what was better, the fact that Riley could read the whole card (at only 4 years old) or that I was able to customize it say exactly what I wanted.

So many ideas...in so little time.

After attending the CTMH Convention this past weekend, I must have a million and one ideas of things I want to share! I will be holding a card workshop on the 31st of July featuring the Splendor papers. The card swapping that was going on at the Convention was in a word...OBSESSIVE! Picture grown women running up to each other and blurting out "Are you swapping?!?" It was what I can only imagine the halls of my daughters middle school looking like when it come to the Silly Bands! But I have to say, I did learn a lot from the cards I swapped, and can't wait to share some of those ideas on the 31st.

Here we go!

I recently became an Independent Consultant for Close To My Heart a scrapbook/stamp/card making company. I am very anxiously but patiently awaiting the arrival of my product kit. I cannot wait to share with everyone my love of preserving memories, and for personalizing crafts and gifts for my friends and family. I will add some pictures once I have my "Christmas morning" when my products arrive. I hope you will join me for some fun, and craftiness!

Why I do what I do.

People often ask me once they find out that I love to craft and create, "What is the one project you are most proud of?" My answer is always the same, "My five kids!" They are the reason I have been scrapbooking for so many years. I want to be able to capture their childhood through pictures, and evoke emotion through the art of scrapbooking. I found a wonderful company, Close To My Heart (CTMH), that allows me to do just that. Their breathtaking line of paper packs with coordinating embellishments and stamp sets take the guess work out of scrapping, and they are a huge time saver. And let's be honest, when it's fun it's easier to get a project done. Once I discovered CTMH, I decided to become a consultant so that I am better equipped to share the joy I feel when preserving memories that will be passed on for generations to come.

Another benefit to using Close To My Heart products is the versatility they offer. Not only do you get to create and protect your precious memories by scrapbooking, but you can also use the paper packs and embellishments to create personalized and unique cards as well as sprucing up your home decor. I love having the ability to transform a simple photograph into a piece of art I am proud to display in my home or give as a gift to a special person.

It is not the amount of 'creative talent' but rather the level of interest and passion you possess that will determine what we are capable of accomplishing together. Let me show you how simple, quick and most importantly fun scrapbooking and paper crafting can be.
